‘552 pvt fish farming units established’

The Regional Fish Farmers Development Agency (RFFDA) Kashmir on Monday organised training cum awareness programme at Pandach Demonstration Centre.

Senior officers of the Department of Fisheries interacted with the private fish farmers and in his address, the Chief Project Officer, RFFDA, B.A. Bhat said till date 552 private fish farming units have been established in the private sector including 32 trout rearing units.

He stated that 80 units of trout and 52 units of carp will be established during 2010-11 under Rashtriya Krishi Vlkas Yougna (RKVY) in Kashmir Division.

Joint Director Fisheries, Kashmir Division F A Nawchoo was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
